Ty Nielson

Principal, Chief Executive Officer

As President and CEO of Columbia Engineering Group, Ty Nielson brings over 15 years of experience in engineering and business management. Ty began his career in the US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Engineering program, where he gained invaluable experience with complex critical systems in high-pressure environments.
Ty's passion for engineering, construction, and entrepreneurship has led him to gain experience across a wide range of industries. He holds a degree in electrical engineering with minors in math and physics, which has provided him with a strong technical and analytical foundation.

Throughout his career, Ty has demonstrated an exceptional ability to lead engineering teams and manage complex projects and programs. He has experience in systems engineering, federal compliance, large-scale program management, critical infrastructure asset management, and high voltage engineering. He is a creative problem solver and programmatic thinker with a knack for finding innovative solutions to even the most challenging issues.

Ty is a strong leader who understands the power of collaboration. He has a passion for building strong and effective teams. His ability to create vision, inspire and motivate his team, and set the standard has been instrumental to his success.

Nate O’Neel

Nate O'Neel is an accomplished electrical engineer and project manager with over 15 years of experience in construction and design. Throughout his career, Nate has collaborated with architects, construction firms, and engineering companies to deliver innovative and effective solutions for clients across a range of industries. With a particular focus on the healthcare, education, data center, and other commercial building applications, Nate has a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by these sectors.

In addition to his technical expertise, Nate is also a seasoned business leader who earned his MBA in 2018. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence have enabled him to successfully manage complex projects and build strong relationships with clients. Whether he is overseeing the design and installation of electrical systems or managing a team of engineers, Nate is known for his professionalism, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and ability to deliver results.

Over the course of his career, Nate has been involved in the delivery of numerous high-quality projects that have helped his clients achieve their goals. He is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in his field, and is dedicated to providing his clients with the highest level of service and support.

Throughout his career, Sean has demonstrated a remarkable track record of success and accomplishment, consistently building and leading great teams to accomplish great tasks. With a lifelong passion for engineering, Sean's commitment to excellence and innovation has been a driving force behind his achievements.

Sean began his career serving in the US Navy in the Nuclear Propulsion Engineering program, gaining invaluable experience in complex and challenging environments. Sean earned his degree in business administration and managerial accounting, Sean has a unique blend of technical and business expertise that he brings to his role as CFO.

Sean is a natural leader with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork. He has a keen sense for identifying and nurturing talent, and an ability to bring out the best in his team members. With a deep understanding of financial and business management, Sean is committed to driving growth and maximizing value for Columbia Engineering Group and its stakeholders.
